Often times it is hard to discern the difference between normal evaporation and pool leaks.

An easy way to discover if your pool may be leaking is to undergo the bucket test. This test involves filling a 5 gallon bucket about two inches from the top with water. Once this is done, place the bucket in the pool and mark the top waterline in the bucket and in the pool. After about 24 hours check the difference between the waterline of the pool and the bucket. If there is a difference between the two measurements it is very possible you may have leak.

Other signs that your pool may be leaking include pumps losing their prime, significant water loss in relation to expected evaporation, cracks, soft spots around the pool, significant increase of your water bill, and if it is necessary to add water more than once a week.
